SuperBowl Sunday has come and gone and if you had the pleasure to watch the event on a big screen TV it makes watching TV on your 14 inch TV a little unbearable(size does matter). People are always asking what the differences between these TV’s. Don’t worry, Uber-Review to the rescue, here a is a very basic overview which we plan to expand on in the near future. There are three main choices in the the big screen TV market:
Plasma: sometimes referred to as PDP’s, are bright have large viewing angles, scale easily to sizes 60 inches and above( Samsung has a 102 inch model that was on display at the recent consumer electronics show). Thin enough to hang on a wall. Suffer from burn in( when a image is left on the screen for extended period of time ie. The CNN symbol)
LCD(liquid crystal displays): are bright with high resolutions, though they have traditionally been smaller than plasma screens and suffered from some blurring during high motion(ie. Sporting events)
[eminimall]
DLP(digital light projection): use very small mirrors to reflect light and are relatively thin and light( in comparison to older sets). They are known for their brightness though said to suffer in dark rooms.
All sets are available with HDTV. HDTV is a whole other ball game and best explained indepth by
