Video games+ Med School=Good SurgeonsStumble This

This story has been out for a little while and it has nothing to do with reviews or product news but I could not resist posting it.

Next time you have to see a surgeon, you may want to check to see if they have a gaming console in their waiting room. If your surgeon can tell the difference between the XBox from your voice box, or BloodRayne from blood products, you may be in luck. According to Wired, surgeons who played a least 3 hours a week of video games were 27 percent faster and made 37 percent fewer mistakes than surgeons who did not play video games.

If Dr. James Rosser Jr.(surgeon and director of the Advanced Medical Technologies Institute at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York) had his way, “every surgeon in America would have three indispensable tools on the operating room tray: a scalpel, sutures, and a video game controller.” Gamers to OR 7 STAT!
