Waterproof your iPod miniStumble This

Continuing our iPod water series, here is a list of reviews of waterproof cases for the iPod mini. When it comes to iPods the one main source for information is the iPod lounge. But there are some other quality reviews out there that were more than willing to test the warranty of these products and jump into showers and Hot tubs all in the name of research. As always only a brief summary is present form each review along with a score, for the complete review please follow the link.

methodshop.com (of all the reviews listed this one is really worth checking out. They actually look like they were having fun testing out the product. My favourite is test#3 “An Encounter with my Bulldog”.
“Not only is the OtterBox case completely waterproof, it is extremely rugged. If you plan on taking your iPod Mini anywhere near water… then protecting your iPod Mini with an OtterBox Mini is basically a no brainer.”
Score: 5 out of 5

“if you want to protect your iPod from moisture and dirt, this is the probably the best solution so far.
Cons:Membrane over display tends to stick to it, making the display slightly difficult to read, Bulky”

” The Good: A beautiful and elaborate underwater housing for the iPod mini that provides full access to its screen, controls, and headphone port while it’s protected against up to 10 feet of water submersion. Includes solid waterproof headphones that work well underwater. An adequate neoprene armband is sold separately, as is a swimbelt.
The Bad: Three times the price of a competing option that works equally well in water (and includes a belt clip, but doesn’t include headphones); does not include a belt clip or other wearable pack-in; isn’t intended for use outside of water.
Score B+

“My verdict for the SV Mini — splash and snow proof: maybe. Waterproof at minimal depths for a very short period of time: not.
There remains only one certain way to keep your iPod mini dry. Don’t get it wet.”

Tunewear waterwear mini

“The Good: A simple, inexpensive way to water-guard your iPod mini during typical daily exposure to the elements and possible drop/crush damage, while gaining full access to its screen and controls. Includes decent strap and armband, smart rubberized headphone connector plug.
The Bad: No guarantees of waterproof design mean that “WaterWear” cases can’t be worn in the water without some fear; no belt clip option. ”
Score B+
