The CVS camcorder is a one-time use video camera. It allows you to record up to 20 minutes and the battery will last 100 minutes and is replaceable. All the instructions are printed on the outer packaging(Turn on, press “record” to start, press again to stop). The camera has just four buttons on/off, playback, record and delete. Once your done with the camera you take it back to CVS and they put the video on DVD. The process takes about 30 minutes. CVS charges $29.95 for the camera and another $12.99 for processing. Total cost $42.89 for a 20-minute DVD. Here is a list of reviews with a brief summary.

This first one-time-use camcorder is extremely convenient, rugged and easy to use. The DVDs it creates also worked well on DVD players and on Windows and Macintosh computers, and it was a cinch to share them via email. But the quality of the videos the camera creates was nothing to write home about.
We were very pleasantly surprised when we actually held the unit. It does not feel like a toy. It has a good solid feel… very much like the iPod in size and a bit lighter in weight.
Though the price and video quality keep it from being a good option for regular use, the CVS One-Time Use Camcorder gives users an easy way to capture that day at the beach or water park without spending a bundle.
The disposable’s video quality is good, not great…the upside is the ability to keep the camera tucked away until needed for simple, impromptu shots and eliminating the worry of dropping it on the sidewalk or in water. And sharing a video finally becomes as easy as e-mailing a digital photo.
Pro’s
- Easy to use
- Slick user interface
- e-mailing option for sending video clips
Con’s
- Video resolution is not great
- $42.95 for 2o mins of video
