It appears that Americans favorite read in the bathroom is no longer the newspaper. It seems instead of rolling up the paper and heading off to the throne, people instead are taking their laptops. A new survey of Internet use has found that more people are surfing from the bathroom. The fifth annual report of how America uses the Internet, is due to be released tomorrow. The survey found that half of those who have Wi-fi had used it in the bathroom.
So what conclusion did they come up with from this earth shattering data?Jeffrey Cole from the USC Annenberg School Center for the Digital Future feels since people were unlikely to be surf in the shower, or while brushing their teeth, that people went off into cyberspace while on the toilet. He also believed some people in busy homes retreated there for some privacy.
“It wasn’t for comic relief — it was a genuine finding,” he said, referring to the survey during an advance briefing to amused US congressional staffers on Friday.
I think an interesting follow up question would have been, “What sites do you visit when in the Bathroom”? But I digress.
