Digital HourglassStumble This

The digital hourglass is a design project, developed by Susann Hamann and Fabian Hemmert from Germany. Their goal was to create a new alarm clock focused on the amount of sleep, not on the time of waking up. They came up with an hourglass that is set by holding it in both hands and tilting it in a up to 45° angle. One hour of sleep is represented by one LED. Once it stands on a surface at a 90° angle, it becomes activated. For the essential 5 minute snooze function in the morning, you just turn it upside down once the alarm goes off. To turn it off you just simply place it down horizontally and it goes into stand-by. If it drops you wont have to worry about cleaning up any sand.
