On March 9 during CEBIT in Hannover, Germany, A4 Tech will debut a new Talky multimedia keyboard with built-in VOIP handset. The keyboard will work with Skype, MSN, Yahoo Message, QQ and Net2phon. Having a built-in handset is a nice touch especially if your not crazy about wearing a headset.

Why do they put it on the right side. I know it looks more like a phone that way but the right side is my mouse side and if I want to browse while talking it’s just not convenient

I never even thought about that because I use my mouse on the left side of the keyboard. It would be a hassle having a mouse and the phone on the same side. I wonder if they even thought about that.

Ideally they should have made the keyboard wireless and the handset wireless as well to accommodate both lefty’s and right handers.
Otherwise they could have made the handset section modular to plug in to the keyboard on either side of the keys. Not very good ergonomic design if you ask me, but at least it’s a start.

They tried this back in the early 1980’s! I refer you to the Wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Per_Desk
There is noting truly new in the world of IT
