The classic battle between children and parents over TV viewing may come to a close, thanks to Parents new best friend, BOB. Bob allows parents to manage the time their children use televisions, game consoles, and computers. The details are light on the official BOB site but from what I gather, parents assign each children a PIN number that they use to turn on their favorite device. The parent can set the amount of time their child can use a media device during the day or week. When the allotted time has expired Bob will turn the media off. You can even get a time report for each child.
from the BOB site:
Have you as a parent ever said, “I wish my children would watch more TV?” Of course not. We know that almost every parent argues with his or her children about how much computer, TV, or gaming time is appropriate. BOB is a simple solution to this argument. BOB provides moderation without the normal confrontation you have with your children because children can’t wear down a machine
