Appearance

The Call center is small and light. It will take up little room on your desk or in your laptop bag, making it ideal for the road warrior to check in with their family.

Setup

The VoSKY Call Center is a breeze to setup with easy to understand instructions and a simple setup wizard. I was up and running in less than 5 mins before I placed my first call with the device.

Using the device

The biggest advantage of the device is that you can use your existing phone or cell phone to make Skype calls. No further hardware is needed.

To use the VoSKY Call Center, all you have to do is pick up the phone connected to the device and press ## and enter the contacts speed dial number or Skype out number. To use the device with a mobile phone, just call the phone number connected to the device and enter the pass code you entered during the configuration. If you do use the mobile phone to make calls it may be a good idea to have the speed dial number or Skype out number added to your phones contact list.

The call quality was good, but this will depend upon your Internet connection. One of the problems I noticed with the system is that you do get dropped calls. It did seem to happen infrequently but enough to leave a slight taste in my mouth. To take full advantage of the features of the call center, you have to leave your computer on at all times, which is not going to be popular with energy conservationists.

One aspect of the call center that I didn”t test out fully was receiving Skype calls. That is due to the fact that everyone in my circle of friends and family does not use Skype. I did receive one Skype call and it worked perfectly. Instead of sitting in front of the computer, coordinating a time to call each other you can step away and wait for the phone to ring.

Summary

During my long trial of the VoSKy Call Center, I made numerous calls, the quality was great and and it was simple to use. You may get some dropped calls on occasion. I love the idea of using your own phone and having the ability to use your mobile phone to place internet calls is icing on the cake. If you already leave your computer on, have excepted VOIP as a great way of saving money and make phone calls around the world, The VoSky Call Center is for you.

Actiontec”s VoSKY Call Center is certainly a worthy addition to the phalanx of VoIP related products pouring out onto the market at the moment. It”s a genuinely neat solution with some potentially money saving features. The dial-in and callback features are particularly well thought-out.

NY Times

If those gotchas don”t getcha, though, you”d be hard-pressed to find another $60 gadget that works so crisply, reliably and efficiently. If you”re among the 25 million existing Skypaholics, the Call Center could magnify the pleasure of making those free calls. And if you”re not, the VoSky Call Center is one more reason to see what Skype is all about.

ComputerUser.com

when I was testing the VoSky Call Center this month. It”s a terrific add-on to a Skype account that enables you to dial out using your Skype account from any phone. At $60, it”s not a cheap device, but with long-distance and international calls at 2.1 cents a minute from Skype, you”ll save enough on calls to pay for it eventually.
