Dash Express, an in-car navigation system with internet connectivity, already talks to its network of Dash-connected vehicles to determine traffic and road conditions to help it intelligently figure out the quickest, most frustration-free route to your destination. As if that weren’t cool enough, they’ve gone and teamed up with Yahoo! to add Yahoo! Local search results to their device.
Get this: say you’re driving around at dinner time, and your stomach’s growling for some hot enchiladas. Simply type “mexican food” into your Dash, and within seconds it’ll have fetched the names, locations, and ratings of nearby Mexican restaurants from Yahoo! Local, giving you the chance to select the one you want and immediately get directions to it, massively decreasing the TTT delay. We may not have robot butlers or personal jetpacks, but the future is still pretty darn cool. Available to lucky drivers in California this Spring, and the rest of us schmoes in the Fall.
