Take Note – A Letter From The Internet To The Real WorldStumble This

Take Note

TakeNote is a very strange website provided by Staedler, the description goes something like this:

“Write a handwritten note online, we’ll handwritten it and then send it onto any address in Australia”

You can register as a receiver and get handwritten letters at your house – The item delivered to the user will consist of one small paper note featuring the exact words submitted by the user. This will be inside a standard hand addressed envelope.

Alternatively, you can also write the letter and pick from the available 3 receivers: a friend, yourself (to check if the system really works) or a stranger. This service only works in Australia.

Other features on TakeNote include being able to check the NoteGallery and read the previous notes that were sent, so here is an example which is the latest note sent to a friend:

Dear Jess – I had to write to tell your feet stink. I hope you appreciate my honesty some day.

So if you live in Australia or know the address that someone who does live there, it is time to start having fun and using TakeNote.

What a fantastically obscure yet curiously personal (whilst being wholly impersonal, of course) idea. In fact it’s the kind of idea that will no doubt have a great many people kicking themselves for not coming up with it (including myself).

Where did it go? It’s not there any more! Is it completely closed down? Is there an alternative?
