Listening to music shouldn’t be based on playing the same old songs over and over again, or just catching up with the latest released hits, I know that most people usually do it that way but when you have the power of the Internet in your hands you can solve this problem.
So forget all the mp3 files on your computer or portable player and try to give some fresh air to your listening-to-music-needs, try some websites that provide the opportunity to listen to music online for free, some of that music you never heard before but you will probably like it because the search results are based on what type of music you enjoy.
How does it work?
- Visit one of the popular sites on this category like Last.fm or Pandora.com
- Type the name of your favourite artist or song
- Turn the speakers on, the volume up and enjoy almost non-stop songs of similar music to the one you provided
- Find not so popular artists/bands that make you have the so called “listening to music orgasm”
- Don’t forget to thank me later
Of course there are other good features available on each website besides the basic stuff I just explained, but if you like it just explore it.
Also, for some people this might seem obvious because they already know Last.fm or other similar websites, but for others it isn’t because they never knew these kind of sites existed – so just think about how happy they will be.

If you really want to broaden your musical horizons, think about public radio:
1) KEXP (Seattle, WA) http://www.kexp.org – “KEXP Public Radio is not an ordinary community-supported station. Offering a rare, unrivalled mix of music that can”t be found anyplace else, KEXP serves listeners in Seattle and around the globe through its online streaming services.” Eclectic mix of music during the day, specialty shows at night.
2) KCMP, The Current (Twin Cities, MN) http://minnesota.publicradio.org/radio/services/the_current/

Rafael, it is the first time I get to know FineTune but it looks pretty damn good, thanks for sharing!
Don, public radio is also one of my options when I’m not listening to last.fm or others, I never heard of KEXP or KCMP because I’m from Europe, but I’ll take a look into that.
