
There are plenty of ways to display the time on a wristwatch, one of them is the analog version of using pointers, but that is really old-school. Another way is the digital version that uses numbers and it usually presents more information that is needed.
The Mugen is special, it doesn’t use any of the previous ways to display the time. It has its own unique system presented on the LCD display:
Mugen tells the time via a series of spiraling blocks.
Around the outer edges are 60 segments, indicating 1 minute each. They are grouped in 10’s so it’s easy to tell the time at a glance. The inner spiral of blocks represent 1 hour each.
Details are important on the Mugen, that is why there are different tone colors on the bars that represent different parts of the day – aqua blue for when the sun is rising and dark blue when it is close to midnight.
Another stimulating detail is the animation effect that can be seen each time one minute passes - the display spirals all the way off & all the way on, then settles back onto the current time. Check the image yourself to see how the animated effect works:
