In terms of originality and usage, Musicovery is certainly on the top 10 “radio/music websites” that I have ever seen.
Instead of presenting the data in a normal way like 90% of the other sites do, Musicovery shows the song/artist info inside of a small “planet” that is linked to other “planets” that feature music of the same kind. Confusing enough? Just visit the website and you will understand what I mean.
There are plenty of ways you can pick the random music:
- by mood: energetic, positive, dark, calm
- by season: from the 1950s until the 2000s
- by genre: rap, R&B, jazz, gospel, blues, metal, rock, pop, electro, latino, classical, soundtrack, world, reggae, soul, funk and disco
- by success: hit, non hit, or discovery
All the settings you can chose are displayed on the remote control that is located on the left, the right side has all the planets that you can click or wait for a song to end and watch it change to another good song.
Details:
- each song being played has information about the year it was released and in which category it should be included
- the first time I picked soundtrack as the only genre the “Eye Of The Tiger” by Caravelli started playing
- sometimes there aren’t enough results that match your settings criteria
In case you didn’t notice I really enjoy this kind of music-online websites because I’m always surprised and impressed by the music that starts randomly playing, I guess it is good to broaden the music horizons. For example, right now I’m listening to the Pink Panther Theme by Henry Mancini
