Vixy is a free online service that converts YouTube videos to a specific format you chose. There are 5 options for the output format: AVI, MOV, MP4 and 3GP for the video, as for the audio it can only convert to MP3,
What does this mean? It means that you can start downloading YouTube videos easily so that they become playable on your iPod/PSP/computer,etc.
I had already mentioned a similar service that ZamZar provided, but Vixy is much better because you have the option to chose the final file format.
Update:
Thanks to Chris and his comment pointing out that Zamzar also has the option to pick the final file format when saving videos from YouTube, and it even includes more formats than Vixy. Don’t know how I missed this one…

In fact Zamzar lets you pick the output format for YouTube videos as well – You can choose from 13 different formats, including many not supported by Vixy:
