The Intruder Phone From A Galaxy Far AwayStumble This

Intruder Cellphone

I have seen my fair share of odd cellphones, but this one beats them all.

Basically the Intruder is a circular shaped phone, by taking a look at the image I think the keypad becomes hard to use, so just imagine how much time you would spend on sending a SMS. Other than that, it is unique when compared to others, it looks futuristic and some people like those factors.

Instead of a conventional clamshell or slider design, the center part of this phone swivels out to reveal its 220 x 176-pixel display, resulting in a handset that’s just under 5 inches long.

Don’t forget to take in consideration that the Intruder is a “just” a concept made by Dennis Hopkins.

It’s unique (I’ll give it that), but it looks rather difficult to use not to mention inconvenient to pocket. Seems like a design more suited for a mp3 player than a phone.

I agree with you Ben, just by looking at the keys I get scared.

I think the keys (like any keys) will need getting used to. The number part is the same as older dial phones (we still ‘dial’ numbers, don’t we?) but the alpha part will need to be used before we know how uncomfortable it is.

If you notice, the normal 12-key pad was also different from the QWERTY keys that one might have been used to at the time. Vastly different. yet, we got used to it. In fact, the key positions can easily be changed to resemble modern practices within the same design.

I see the problem elsewhere - a round phone may be difficult to hold to the ear and will be difficult for one-handed operation. Definitely, very beautiful, nonetheless.
