Remote Controlled Switch Socket

Every time a person with a normal house needs to turn off a light or cut the electricity power from an electrical device, the sure thing to do is go to the socket and unplug the desired cable. But that hard task can be history with the Remote Controlled Switch Socket.

As the name suggests this kit includes special sockets and a remote control that works within a 100-foot range, you just need to click the on/off button and voilá - the power goes on or off. Think of it as a new remote control besides the TV and DVD ones, needless to say it will save you lots of time and effort + it is a good way to save some money on the monthly electrical bill.

Price: $13

The question is whether it really saves energy? instead of the tv being standby to receive signals from the TV remote control, your remote socket is now in standby mode to receive the signal from the remote socket remote.

I’d bet that the socket is drawing less wattage than the TV set does, possibly even over a LCD set and especially so if you still have a CRT set.
