The Biodegradable Source Toothbrush

Source Toothbrush

If you are the kind of person that has a passion for both the environment and oral hygiene, you can now kill two birds with one stone thanks to the Source Toothbrush.

The Source is unique because the handle is made from 100% biodegradable plant sources like flax, wood fiber, and corn. Throwing away the replacement heads means that only 1/5 of a standard toothbrush actually becomes a waste product. The fact that dentists suggest that a toothbrush be replaced 3 or 4 times a year means that, over time, this sort of waste could really add up.

On the other hand, you could be like me and throw away your toothbrush around once a year. So instead of being called “disgusting” you could say that I am being “environmentally conscious”.

Price: $7.95 ( individual ) $6.95 (replacement heads)

This toothbrush is not biodegradable. They say on their website that they use bioplastic but when you contact them they tell you that they couldn’t actually do it for production reasons but haven’t ‘had a chance’ to change their website. This has been almost a year since I’ve contacted them and much longer since they’ve had it on their site. I’m not saying the toothbrushes are bad, but if you’re going to write an article promoting a product you really should check your facts.
