The Mi VDO FX is a digital video camera that is a work of genius in its simplicity. It is an inexpensive camera that can add effects on the fly. The effects include sepia, color change, negative and earthquake effect. The Mi VDO FX comes with only 32MB of memory which is good for 5 minutes of recording or 300 images, but it has an SD slot and based on that information, we can assume that 1GB will give you about 156 minutes of recording or 9375 images. Obviously we are not talking about high definition here, but if you are shooting for You Tube, low-res is exactly what you want. There is no point in wasting time compressing higher quality footage, not when you can capture that same footage on a cheaper camera. Low-resolution looks poor regardless of the camera that it was recorded on. You can record to either NTSC or PAL, formats are either MPEG or JPG. As the effects are inserted on the fly, the Mi VDO FX looks a very effective way to get your videos onto You Tube in a timely fashion. It features a USB port, standard AV ports, a 1.5 inch LCD screen and on-board speakers for playback.
This camera is not shipping yet, but the price has already been determined and the sales should start very soon. The Mi VDO FX looks like it could be a lot of fun for the You Tube crowd.
