Who is not a sucker for a good gaming mouse? The Microsoft Sidewinder Mouse screams quality and offers some subtle innovations. While some aspects of the mouse are very similar to the Logitech G5, Microsoft has taken the gaming mouse to an entirely new place. What is more, the color scheme of the Sidewinder looks terrific. There are some nice looking mice on the market, but this is up there with the best of them. The LCD screen on the left hand side is a nice finishing touch; it is used to display DPI settings and macro information.
Being a gaming mouse, it is of course wired, but it comes with a cable anchor to keep you from getting tangled up in your own cords. Five programmable macro buttons will allow you to program in commands that you frequently use. The side buttons are aligned vertically and constructed from metal. Metal is also used for the scroll wheel. A quick launch button for Vista games explorer is icing on the cake. Adjustable weighting systems have been seen before, but are always a nice touch. There are quite a few gamers who prefer the reassuring weight of a heavier mouse. Weight is adjustable from 5gm – 30gm. Replaceable feet will have you gliding the way that you want to glide; there are three types to choose from. Perhaps the coolest feature is the software that comes with it. You will be able to adjust DPI settings and macros on the fly.
This is easily the best looking gaming mouse I have ever seen. I cannot wait to get my hands on one.
