After suffering a quarterly loss for April-June, Pioneer is fighting back against LCD makers by releasing two new full HD (1080p) television sets. The new 50 and 60 inch Full HD will feature deeper blacks and very big price tags. Their nearest competitor is Matsushita Electronics (Panasonic) who have a 50-inch 1080p plasma available for $3,780.
The new Pioneer models are due out this October. It looks like they will be posting more losses from then if they do not offer a price cut on these monsters.
Price: $6,060 for the 50-inch and $8,340 for the 60-inch.
