The product site wants you to think of the PlasmaCar< as "a Segway for kids." The way I see it, these two devices have very little in common. For example, the PlasmaCar is completely powered by inertia, gravity and centrifugal force. Segways are powered by lazy geeks that get winded putting on their clothes in the morning.
The procedure used to propel the PlasmaCar is described thusly:
To propel the PlasmaCar, you rotate the steering wheel continuously from left to right. It also works in reverse. To zoom backwards, just switch the set of four front wheels around so that the larger ones are closest to the front of the car. To stop your PlasmaCar, just cease rotating the steering wheel and, when the car slows, put your feet on the ground to bring it to a full stop-easy as pie.
In other words, it’s kind of like a set of Rollerblades that you can sit on. Definitely a great way to get the kids outdoors for some exercise.

Granted I’ve never been convinced of the necessity of a Segway, all of us are temporarily able-bodied. Escalators, automatic doors, electric can-openers and moving walk-ways make life considerably more satisfying and safe for folks who aren’t young and healthy. One week in a wheelchair broadens the mind greatly.
