Wolfenstein, all of the Dooms and Quakes. I played Hexen for a while, a tricky one called Descent. These days I play less, when I do it is Battlefield, though the new Medal of Honor and Quake both look pretty good to me now. Halo 3 looks pretty cool, but with a new desktop and notebook on the cards, the budget will not stretch that far. By the way, every 1st person shooter that I played was for exactly the same reason and it wasn't for the story. Story lines are cool and I like a story in a game, but a game that is played for story alone is over pretty quickly. What keeps shooters viable is that you can enjoy it without the story. Get a couple of teams together and do battle, that is what a first person shooter is about. The story is just the gloss. But that is just my opinion.
