With the arms race to build the biggest and best LCD screens that seems to be taking place at the moment, it is easy to forget about the new models that come out targeting Joe Six-Pack. Whilst we would all love a 70-inch beast of a television, very few people have the space and even less people have the budget. Two modestly priced and sized models have just been released by Victor in Japan; the LT-37LC205 is the 37-inch variant. the LT-32LC205 is 32-inches. You may have heard that Victor is Japanese for JVC. LT-37LC205 is the 37-inch variant, the LT-32LC205 is 32-inches. They are both modestly priced but pack quite a punch, by incorporating similar technology to what was once on only the most expensive of LCD models.
Victor has created a CPU based image optimization engine that they have named Genessa. Genessa will optimize the color of your images and help with the handling of high speed images at 120Hz. Genessa also controls the backlighting to help deal with dark colors and black. Aside from Genessa, there are some other interesting features. It is possible to adjust the brightness of the screen according to the brightness of the room; there are five settings to switch between. They have even included an onboard help function, for people that need to use manuals and a voice guide is part of it. Ports, in case you are interested include three HDMI, one component, three video, one LAN, a monitor output and a 2400bps telephone jack. It is great seeing high definition televisions that are both good quality and affordable. 37-inches is plenty of screen real estate, especially in the average lounge room. Two thumbs up for Victor on this one. Look for a similar JVC release soon.
Price: $2330 for the 37-inch model in mid-October ($1,720 for the 32-inch in September).
