This Week in September, P2P News from Around the World Wide Web

Prince

Suprnova, which was once the bane of every anti-piracy organization on the planet, has been launched once again in Beta stage.

The Pirate Bay’s Suprnova launch comes in time for the announcement that the former artist once known as Prince, or is that the artist formerly known as Prince, will sue eBay, YouTube and while he is at it, The Pirate Bay. Prince has a history of mean spirited legal meddling. He famously pulled the plug on one International Idol’s performance of “When Doves Cry.” Perhaps the lawsuits are an attempt to replenish his coffers after he gave away copies of his album free with a British tabloid.

Finally, 35-year-old Gregory Kopiloff was arrested last week for allegedly stealing copies of P2P users’ credit card details and used them to purchase goods over the Net. It would seem that some Limewire users share files and folders unwittingly. The scam allegedly netted him over $70,000. For his efforts, Mr. Kopiloff faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 if convicted.
