Key Carbon, USB Based Keystroke SleuthStumble This

Key Carbon
The Key Carbon is a clever idea, if you want to snoop around your own computer. If you suspect that your roommate is taking liberties with your system or that your significant other is onto your pr0n stash, the Key Carbon will let you know one way or another. It is compatible with any PC that uses a USB keyboard and records the keystrokes on a hardware level rather than a software level. The memory is not exactly huge at a mere 512K, but that is good for over 90,000 words (about a week on my computer and I type a lot).

If you are worried that someone else might check out your Key Carbon files you don’t need to be. The program installs itself onto your computer when you enter in a password and uninstalls itself when you close the program. It is a clever little way to ensure the integrity of your sensitive data.

It doesn’t look like much and the form factor sucks. A more stealthy design would have been nice. Something that you can plug in that will hide behind the mass of cables at the back of the average computer. This looks the size of a regular stick and at the price, I can’t help but think they could have been a little more generous.

Price: $190
