Looking Dangerous and Cool with Razer’s Mako 2.1 THX Certified Speakers

Razer Mako 2.1 Channel Speakers

I love the work that Razer has been doing lately. They have one of the coolest looking gaming keyboards on the market; a mouse that is one of the best (if not the best), a hot sound card and now some incredibly cool looking gaming speakers. The shape is reminiscent of Mario’s favorite fungal snack. They are not quite black, more of a charcoal color, so that one can distinguish a jet black THX logo on each speaker. The tops are slightly lighter and incorporate the Razer logo.

These days there are a few high quality desktop speaker setups on the market, the Razer speakers are a little different. They are acoustically designed for sitting on desks. The downfiring design prevents distortion from desktop objects. The two bi-amplified satellite speakers have a respectable range of 30-20,000 Hz. The system has 300W of total power over 6 channels, with 50W per channel and should be more than enough for most gaming rooms.

No word on pricing yet, but looking at similar products on the market, we could see them in the sub $400 range. We will know for sure in December when they hit online stores.

Update: Price : $350
