It seems the latest and greatest MS Word exploit is contained in a document that was written on Word for Mac. It is embarrassing for Microsoft that the exploit targets a security flaw that was already patched. Symantec reported that a suspicious document successfully crashed every version of Word except 2007. Not only did the document crash Word, it also contained three pieces of malware.
I would like to think that most people have learned, by now, that opening suspicious documents is akin to playing Russian Roulette with their system, however, there are those of us that deal in the written word that do have to open files from unknown sources. Scan those attachments people. I have already been hit with one MS Word exploit and let me assure you that it was highly unpleasant.
