PlayerBlock Service Restricts a Players Right to Play

Stop Sign

Here is a scary piece of news for all of you tight pants wearing would be Lotharios out there. The jig is soon to be up. At least it will be if a new SMS and Internet based service called PlayerBlock has its way. For a monthly fee, PlayerBlock members can share information about their dating experiences, either good or bad. People record their impressions of their date and link it to their date’s phone number.

I for one think that such a service is a disgusting invasion of privacy. If I found that the person I was seeing was recording my phone number and sharing information about me, I think that I would have a right to be upset. Life is unfair sometimes and people do get played and that does suck, but that’s life. The potential for abuse of such a system is enormous.

Someone that has a grudge against you could easily fill the database with malicious reports. There are people that petty out there, I have met some of them. When did trust go out the window and everyone become so jaded that people actually pay for this sort of information.

Price: $4.99 for up to 100 messages, if you are requiring more than three messages a day, I would say that it is you sir or ma’am who are the player.
