Roboboa an Amusing Melange of Loosely Unrelated TechnologyStumble This

Roboboa

The Roboboa robot snake has finally been launched in the United States. The robot and tech mash up can be yours to own for a very reasonable price. Most tech mash ups combine completely unrelated devices. Roboboa is no different, but a bit more fun. At its essence, it is a snake robot, but there are a few kitsch options tagged on for good measure.

You can connect it to your iPod where it will function as a speaker. It functions as an alarm clock and you can use it as a flexible flashlight, I even saw the suggestion that it can work as a desk light. All are excellent if you care about non-robot functions.

The roboty stuff that Roboboa can do is pretty cool considering the price. You can program up to forty individual movements into it. It will track and follow movement. In fact it can track movement and follow it with its spotlight. The coolest function though is yet to materialize. It is rumored that you will be able to attach soft projectile launchers to several mount points on its body. Rather than merely track a moving object with the spotlight, you will be able to attack your target with the launchers; very nice indeed.

Price: $99.99
