Sony’s 80GB HDMS-S1D Photo Player is UnnecessaryStumble This

HDMS-S1D Front

Get over it, no one wants to see the 50 billion picture album that you put together of little Johnny’s second birthday party. Nobody cares about half of the stupid photos that you take. Show me nine or ten tops and that is enough. Why oh why did Sony enable jerks who think that hour long slideshows equal a good time for everyone. I don’t care about your kids birthday, I don’t care about your trip to France, I don’t care about your wedding, show me a slideshow that goes for more than ten minutes and I will show myself to the door.

Sony’s HDMS-S1D is basically a hard drive that has a bunch of outputs attached. You can hook it up to your TV via HDMI, composite, component and S-Video outputs. Yes, there are audio outs, so I guess you can mix in some music and make a trashy little montage that no one is interested in except you. It also has a mini-USB port and a LAN port and sports a nice looking case fan in case your 80GB of photos are a steaming pile of crap. It takes a bunch of memory card types and has a DVD / CD drive. You know, most good TVs have a DVI port so you could just plug your PC into your TV and save yourself a lot of money.
