Art From Steel is a company based out of Thailand. They construct all sorts of groovy steel sculptures out of scrap steel. They have over two hundred designs and my guess is that they would be willing to make something to order if the price was right. Please note that the picture quality of some of these leaves a little to be desired, but it is enough to get an idea of their range. What you see here is a sampling, of the designs that I found most interesting. Browse the site at your leisure and you will find hundreds more of varying quality. All of the prices that are quoted include shipping. They may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but they sure are interesting and you can imagine what similar sculptures would cost if they were made Stateside.
The title shot is a life size Chopper that stands 1.1 meters high and will ship to your door for $4,422.
More pictures after the jump.
First up is a 1.6-meter statue of Anubis. This also comes in a larger 2.45-meter version. The small one sells for $3,316
Next up is the Alien Queen in 3 meters of glory, yours for a touch over $6,000

Everybody’s favorite droid, C-3PO is 2.2 meters of solid steel cowardice and not exactly a bargain at $4,422. Standing next to him in this shot is a 1.5-meter tall Jango Fett who is a bargain at $3,316.

Next up two statues that ought to scare the crap out of the kids next door. The one meter tall Alien and Predator statues are an absolute bargain at $1,421 each.

Finally, we have the character that single-handedly ruined Episode 1 with a Gremlin. I don’t know why you would want a statue of Jar Jar, but I am sure that you have all sorts of things planned in your imagination. Jar Jar sells and ships for $2,840 and stands at 1.5 meters in height while the 1-meter tall Gremlin is a low, low $1,421.
If you have a bit of time, the site is definitely worth browsing, you can get lost in there. There were a few statues that didn’t quite do it for me, but there were some great ones in there too. I think Jar Jar turned out well, even though I don’t care for the character.

I have seen the shop these guys have on Koh Samui. Very good detail in their work. Just go down to the Big Buddha and you will see the shop.
