This is an interesting product. On the one hand if you use disposable batteries as are displayed in the picture, you would do just as well to keep your batteries in the original packaging. If on the other hand you use rechargeable batteries, a battery caddy might be a good idea. It keeps them all together in one place which is nice, but then so does any sort of appropriately-sized plastic container.

The only people that have any use for these are neat freaks that like wasting money on useless junk. Prices range from $4.95 to $13.95. Decide for yourself if you think that they are worth it.
