If you visit the popular Demonoid Bittorrent site, you will get the following message:
The CRIA threatened the company renting the servers to us, and because of this it is not possible to keep the site online. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding.
Another big Bittorrent site goes down, who will leap to take their place? Perhaps The Pirate Bay will get a bit more Bittorrent traffic, perhaps not. I have to admit that I am surprised that they did not host Demonoid themselves. What does this mean for Bittorrent? Not much in the grand scheme of things, but the authorities have had two big hits in a row. I am sure that there will be a lot of people that are sad to see Demonoid go. Although it is possible they will be back, it seems unlikely. From the message, one gets the feeling that this time it is for good.
