Ideazon is ready to drop a hot new gaming mouse into an already crowded market. The Ideazon Reaper Edge is nothing out of the ordinary as far as gaming mice go, but it looks pretty good. It features the new gaming standard 3,200 DPI maximum laser sensor, 1ms response time, 20g acceleration and 45ips maximum speed. Its fast, as fast as you need, but it is not the stats that have me sold on the mouse, it is the look. What really struck me about the Reaper Edge was the aggressive styling and the rubberized anti-slip grip. The rubber scroll wheel is also an nice touch, where a lot of competitors are going for stiffer or even metal scroll wheels, the soft feel of rubber might be a little more comfortable.
Without getting a hands on it is hard to say how it will perform in the real world, but it looks promising. There are five DPI settings (800, 1200, 1600, 2000, 3200) with on-the-fly switching. Five programmable buttons ought to be enough for most gamers, multi-profile management will let you save different settings for different games and you can calibrate the X and Y axis separately. This is a real plus if like me you tend to have more exaggerated left to right movements and small up and down movements.
The Ideazon Reaper Edge looks great and can certainly be a contender in the crowded gaming mouse market. It’s set for a fall release, so that means it will be here very, very soon.
