I treated myself this year to a Razer Lycosa and I have to say it is one of the best keyboards that I have ever used. It is as close to perfect as I have used, and I have used a few keyboards. First up, the keys, they are low profile and have a near laptop feel to them. They are a little more responsive than laptop keys and they do descend a fair distance on key strokes, but they are effortless. I found that the soft rubberized finish combined with the sensitiveness of the keys made for some great ergonomics. I type a lot and find that my fingertips become quite sore after a lot of typing; not with this keyboard.
There is a USB slot which I confess that I have not used, headphone and microphone jacks (also unused) and a set of media keys on a little touch panel. The USB backlighting can be switched between WASD and all keys and the two windows keys can be deactivated by hitting the Razer logo key in the middle of the touch panel and the windows key at the same time. You can program every single key on the keyboard, so while there are no macro keys, there is plenty that you can do with the unused parts of your board.
Criticisms of the Lycosa are minimal, but I do have a few. I am a solid touch typer and I get some good speed, so I do not look at the keys. Still there are times that I need to have a glance, particularly if I have been using a Japanese keyboard for a while. If you don’t know where things should be then you might find yourself hunched over the keyboard a bit. The reason is that unless the room is dark, the backlighting does not clearly illuminate the keyboard. It uses two USB ports and slots at the back of my system are limited. It would be nice if they could compensate with two ports in the board. The media keys lack tactile feedback, which is a little annoying for those of us that were born in the pre-touchscreen days.
Other than that, this keyboard is damned near perfect.  I thoroughly recommend it. I bought mine online from Razer and they sent it by Fedex out here to Japan.
