The official launch date of the new NVidia chips is set for February. The new high-end of the GeForce range will be the D9E, based on the 65 Nanometer fabrication process. It will support Direct X 10.1 and Shader 4.1 and should offer a bit of a performance boost over the current range. Those of us that just went out and bought 8 series cards at premium prices might feel like kicking ourselves, but remember February is three whole months away and all computer stuff gets superseded eventually. I won’t really be buying into the 9 series, I will probably wait for 10, but it will be interesting to see the performance boost that is offered.
NVidia are also gearing up a mid range 9 series card the D9P for June 2008.
