This F1 inspired racing child seat, or the Sauber F1 Junior Seat (as it is officially known) from BMW actually looks pretty cool. My boy is getting bigger and increasingly dissatisfied with the baby chair.  It looks incredibly easy to setup, unlike my present model which requires a degree in engineering to install.  It features an adjustable backrest and should keep them safe and sound until they are 12 years old!  Note, while it might protect them from accidents up until the age of twelve, it will not protect them from bullies who will be after the twelve year old that sits in a car seat in force.

No price yet, but I think the Oh Gizmo! estimate of around $1,000 is not far off the mark.  The price is a shame, because it would be an awesome product if it were a little cheaper.
