My office is open plan. I have a messy desk which sits alongside a martial arts guru and opposite a baseball coach. I have a lively young woman next to me that does not complain about the mess from my desk overflowing onto her own. Not a cubicle wall in sight and I have to say, life is probably better for it. Perhaps the privacy and solitude that a cubicle could offer would be nice, but there is any number of places in my workplace that offer me that.
The concept of cubicles both intrigues and horrifies me at the same time. While I am well suited to cubicle life, I know a lot of people that are not. Think Geek’s “The Cubes” remind me of such people. They have a whole array of different cubicle environments and accessories for people to amuse themselves with. If you are in need of some new play things, or you just want some art that imitates life for a change, check them out. There are plenty to choose from with prices ranging from $3 to $13.
