The K2 Porcupine is a deadly looking flashlight. The retractable front end features a spiky, ripping attachment that will allow it to be used for self defense purposes. While it can almost certainly accomplish its stated purpose, I have to question its usefulness. I think that there are a great many people that do not have it in them to use a device that looks like this, no matter what the situation.
A taser, can of pepper spray, or even a gun keeps the user at a distance from the target. The K2 Porcupine, however, will require the user to be in hand-to-hand range. This would make it analogous to using a short baton, billy club or knife. Long story short, if you are going to carry a K2 Porcupine, you might want to go to the trouble of learning some form of martial art that will allow you to wield it with a little more confidence.
The flashlight specs of the K2 Porcupine are reasonably impressive. It looks a sturdy torch and it pumps out 70 lumens, which is nothing to sneeze at.

We did some testing on another pentagon light with a police battering ram and we couldn’t break it… definitely a good light. We’ll have the video up soon at:
