The TSA would seem to be a little embarrassed by the recent incident involving a traveler being stopped by an ever vigilant “Transportation Security Officer.” They commented on the event in their blog:
Here is my theory. Along comes the new MacBook Air. The thing is as thin as a potato chip, and looks completely different than any other laptop the TSOs have ever seen. They are seldom seen at TSA checkpoints due to their newness and the fact that they can be hard to find sometimes.
Sycophantic drivel if ever I heard it. It seems that the only area that TSA has their collective head together is in the Public Relations department. It is not too difficult to look at an MBA and realize that it is in fact a ‘puter. It would seem to me that they should have been exercising a little independent thought rather than blindly adhering to protocols.
They did the right thing in the end. They got the traveler in question to boot it up and run a program but in the time that it took them to make that decision he had missed his flight and doubtlessly been placed in an extremely stressful situation.

It’s a thin notebook in town, but I’m afraid by having this… it’s a thin and it’s easy to break in case of falling down….
But it’s an eye catching notebook…
