The Jet is a new aircraft currently under development by Cirrus. It is an attractive single-engine jet with a ceiling of 25,000 feet and a top speed of 345 mph. Combine that with a range of 1000 miles and you have a highly versatile small aircraft.

Cirrus claims that The-Jet is able to seat up to seven passengers, though looking at the shot of the interior, it is ideally suited to four (not including the pilot). It has a well-appointed, utilitarian interior, with three seats in the back and two up front. The body will be constructed of carbon fiber and the nosecone will be fitted with a parachute that will be deployed in the event that the single engine fails.

Cirrus is expecting certification for the vehicle sometime next year, with possible delivery by 2011. That fact is not stopping them from taking deposits now. If you want to secure your Cirrus “The-Jet” you can do so for the paltry sum of $100,000. [Cirrus via Born Rich via DVICE]
