Solar-Assisted Aircraft Coming Soon From Falx

Falx Air Vehicles
Falx Air Vehicles of the UK has announced that they are placing the finishing touches on the design of a new hybrid-electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing VTOL aircraft platform. The aircraft will come in either single-seat or twin-seat configurations weighing in at just 350kg and 450kg respectively. The aircraft will make use of solar arrays and a small 100hp combustion engine to achieve a fuel economy of 10 liters per hour of flight. A working prototype is expected as early as this year; with certification projected for the end of 2009. [Falx Air Vehicles via Gizmag]
