Solar Unagi Has a Limited MarketStumble This

Sola Unagi

I don’t know of too many people that would desire to own a 10kg solar charger. Seriously, this thing is a monster. It is also something that I would be afraid to take through airport security as I am sure that they would feel certain that it is a “device”. There is no Lithium in this bad boy, it is lead acid all the way. With two 13W solar arrays, I am guessing that it would take a while to charge the Solar Unagi.

Where is the appeal? I think that the Solar Unagi does have some limited appeal, but I am not sure if it will reach the people that would put it to its best use. It gives a pretty neat alternative to running everything off a car battery if you are out in the middle of nowhere. How about people that work in countries where the electricity is not dependable or people that are working in disaster zones? The Solar Unagi is far too expensive and overpowered for the casual user. If you are going to carry a clunky solar charger around, why not make it something like this that can actually do some charging. Sure 10kg will give most people a hernia, but this will power a mobile office with juice to spare.

Price: Approximately $1365 from Strapya.
