This is one of the coolest DIY NES controller jobs I have seen in a long time. This one seems a little bit more appropriate than most projects as the controller still controls; which is what it was designed to do as opposed to playing music or whatever else the other NES controller mods do.
The other thing that I like about the Apple NES Remote mod is that it is so well done. The parts are soldered in and apart from the battery solution which seems a little slapdash, it is a professional-looking project.
The video gives you a good look at the Apple NES Remote in action:
If you are interested in building your own Apple NES Remote, then you will need some soldering skills, a NES controller, an Apple remote, a Dremel and a ton of free time. This is a tricky looking mod and I would expect to make a few mistakes along the way. [Instructables via TechEBlog]
