The G-Drive Mini Triple is one portable hard drive that I absolutely must get my hands on. It stands apart from other 2.5-inch portables in that it spins at 7200 RPM as opposed to 5400 RPM and with that rugged, minimalist exterior, it looks good too.
It is a convenient beast; packing in bus power with USB and Firewire connectivity, but not skimping on the external power supply for users operating low power systems. My only qualm is that they did not offer a SATA option. It comes preformatted for Mac, but that can soon be remedied.
The high speed Mini Triple only comes in 200GB, but there are regular speed versions in 160GB – 250GB. The premium on the high speed version is only $20, so it is probably worth giving a try.
Price: $279 for the fast version. [G-Technology via Crave]
