Torrent2Exe promises to make P2P so simple that anyone can figure it out. It is a web-based operation that converts a .torrent file to a .exe file that will allow a torrent to be downloaded without any P2P client software. This brings everybody and his or her grandparents within the scope of Bittorrent and makes me more than a little concerned.

While I am certain that the folks behind Torrent2Exe have their hearts in the right place, if the service really takes off there are potential security issues. A proliferation of tiny executables onto various websites would make people dangerously complacent when it comes to downloading potentially dangerous extensions.
