Tote-a-Tot has a novel solution to traveling with small children. It comes in the form of a case that you can strap a baby’s car seat onto. The idea is that you carry the child, his or her supplies and a few other things all in one tidy little package.
There is no doubt that traveling with a small child can be a stressful experience. I have done it on numerous occasions; it is hard. Strollers are only as good as long as they want to sit them and when they don’t you are left lugging a stroller and possibly carrying the child.
While Tote-a-Tot is thinking along the right lines, it looks like a rather cumbersome package to be dragging. Car seats are heavy and I am not entirely certain that it will make life a whole lot easier. The price is reasonable but I am thinking that this is one small convenience that I can quite happily live without.

I just posted another comment I thought on this website but I don’t see it anywhere. It’s my response to a bashing I just read about my new favorite parenting product, the TOTEaTOT! I just got back from vacation as was so impressed with it that I decided to google it and see what other folks say about it.
It made bringing my daughter’s car seat on vacation with us a breeze. I’ve done it both ways…lugging the car seat over my shoulder thru the airport and onto the plane and now this time, using the TOTEaTOT. Lugging it over your shoulder is the most awkward, tiring, aggravating thing. I just simply couldn’t do it again. That’s why I searched out a solution. And I found it and then some in the TOTEaTOT!
My main requirements when we travel is:
1. I want to bring my daughter’s own car seat with us. She’s used to sitting in it in our car. I want her to be comfortable on the plane (and probably better behaved and I’m sure safer).
2. I want my daughter’s own car seat in our rental car. Not some rental car company’s cheapo car seat that we have to rent.
3. I want to bring a carry on suitcase with us in case our luggage gets separated. Not much fun having that happen when you are traveling with a toddler. I’m also very worried about long, unexpected layovers. That’s why I need to have a large, sufficient carry on with all of our stuff.
4. I want to make it through the airport in one piece and not be covered head-to-toe in sweat by the time I sit down on the plane.
5. Mission Accomplished…Thanks to TOTEaTOT!
6. Bonus: my daughter LOVED being wheeled around the airport. And passersby got a kick out of it too.
