A Backpack Pontoon Boat is a novel creation that is being hawked as we speak by Hammacher Schlemmer. Everything that you need to do a bit of paddling is included in a tidy package that weighs in at “just” 42 lbs; including the three-piece oars.

If you are feeling extra strong, it also sports some extra pockets so that you can take along some extra gear. The boat might be little, but it has a 350 lb capacity and is rated for class I rivers. While I would not like to walk any great distance with this thing on my back, it is a cool idea. Unfortunately there are no class I rivers near my house with table-worthy fish or Hammacher Schlemmer would so have my money.
