It seems that at least some meat-world casinos are preparing to take a leaf out of the book of their online cousins. The X10 Ten Player Automated Poker Table is allows up to ten people to sit around a table and play Texas Hold ‘em and Blackjack without the need for a dealer, chips or cards.
There is a 12.1″ touch screen at each seat and a 27″ LCD in the middle of the table. You touch your hole cards on the screen to examine them; community cards and the size of the pot are shown in the center screen.
Purists would argue that it is bad for the game, but when you think how many poker players made their start in the online version of the game, it is a fair bet that the X10 will take off. Automating the game removes the need to count chips, which can be pretty tedious in a big game. Look for them in Vegas or Macao.
Price: $29,950 (at that price it probably won’t make its way into too many basement games). [Hard Gaming via Born Rich]
